Canopy of Compassion, Take Two
Thank you so much for your support of Trust Women and for attending our 2021 Canopy of Compassion annual event. We had such a great time visiting with you and seeing you online and in person!
Due to technical difficulties, we weren't able to present all of the great videos from staff and special guests that we had planned on sharing. We didn't want to leave them unseen, however, so we've uploaded them to this webpage. We sincerely hope you enjoy! (And, while this page isn't visible from our navigation menus, please don't hesitate to share it with your friends or other supporters who you think might enjoy it!)
Why We Do It
The foundation of everything we do here at Trust Women is the work we do each day in our clinics. Our clinical staff is a wonderful group of doctors, nurses, administrators and volunteers who provide amazing, compassionate care to every patient who trusts us with their care, whether that’s abortions, trans health care or other reproductive health care.
Each of us brings a different skill set and a different set of “whys” that inspire us, and we made a few videos to share with you.
Allow Us To Introduce Our First Speaker...
We were thrilled to have Lupe Rodriguez, Executive Director of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, record a short presentation for us.
Lupe has been a leader in the reproductive rights, health and justice movements for over 14 years, and was most recently the Vice President of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the US. Throughout her career, Lupe has devoted her work to community, women rights, health justice, and reproductive justice, including Chair of the Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women, Chair of the Board of ACCESS Women’s Health Justice, Treasurer of the Board of California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, and Leader of the Community Advisory Board for the Center for Clinical Research at Stanford Medical School.
Lupe was honored with the ‘Generation Award for an Emerging Leader’ from the California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom and received the “40 Under 40” Health Care Leaders award by Silicon Valley Latino magazine. Lupe has a degree in neurobiology from Harvard University.
And That's a Wrap!
Thank you for attending the Canopy of Compassion gala, either online or in person, and for coming back to enjoy these special videos. Your support matters so much to Trust Women and the thousands of people we serve every year. As we look forward to the year ahead, we're grateful to know that you'll be alongside us every step of the way.
In the meantime, we hope you'll stay up-to-date with the latest news from Trust Women, and stay active in the movement by volunteering, getting involved in your own communities and supporting your local abortion clinic, wherever that may be. No one does this work alone, but together we will continue to protect and expand abortion access for all people. Solidarity!
