Emergency Contraception

Trust Women Wichita Clinic is proud to offer high-quality reproductive health care at our clinic in Wichita, Kansas.

The Trust Women Wichita Clinic offers emergency contraception at an affordable price with no appointment or prescription necessary. Emergency contraception isn’t a method you should rely on all the time. We’re happy to talk to you about everyday options. But if you have unprotected sex, the “morning-after” pill is the quickest and easiest option out there and is available without a prescription.

We offer a single dose 1.5 mg (levonorgestrel) tablet for $15 or two for $25. It’s always good to have backup!.

Emergency contraception is NOT the abortion pill and will not work if you are already pregnant.

If you are pregnant and are interested in medication abortion (the abortion pill), please click here.

Emergency contraception is used to prevent pregnancy after birth control failure (e.g., broken condom) or unprotected sex. It is a progestin hormone that prevents pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) and changing the womb and cervical mucus to make it more difficult for an egg to meet sperm (fertilization) or attach to the wall of the womb (implantation).

Using this medication will not stop an existing pregnancy or protect you against sexually transmitted diseases (e.g., HIV, gonorrhea or chlamydia).

This medication may not work well in women over a certain weight (for example, greater than 164 pounds or 74 kilograms). Talk to your doctor for more details and to see if this medication is right for you.

This medication should not be used as a regular form of birth control.
