Special help with long-acting reversible contraception available now
Our Seattle clinic is now offering free or reduced-cost long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs) to individuals who qualify. The program began on April 3, 2017, the fourth anniversary of the clinic’s opening.
- LARCs, which include IUDs (intrauterine devices), provide effective birth control for up to 10 years.
- Trust Women received an $88,640 grant from an anonymous donor to make LARCs available to patients of its Seattle clinic.
- According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, LARCs are the most effective form of birth control. During the first year of typical use, according to the association reports, less than one in 100 women using long-acting reversible contraception will become pregnant.
- Women who are interested in the program may call the Women’s Center at 206-625-0202 to learn more about the program and to see if they qualify.
“This program will allow us to help women who do not wish to have children at this time but who might not be able to afford long-acting reversible contraception. We are thrilled to begin offering this program on our fourth anniversary. Helping women manage their reproductive health care is a core value at Trust Women.”
