Emergency Contraception

Trust Women Oklahoma City Clinic is proud to provide high-quality reproductive health services at our clinic in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Trust Women Oklahoma City Clinic provides emergency contraception at a low cost with no appointment or prescription required. Emergency contraception isn’t a method of birth control that you should rely on all the time. We’re happy to speak with you about everyday options. However if you have unprotected sex, the “morning-after” pill is the quickest and easiest option and is available without a prescription.

We offer a single dose 1.5 mg (levonorgestrel) tablet for $25 or two for $40.

It is important to note, the emergency contraception is NOT the abortion pill and does not work if you are already pregnant.

In the event that you are pregnant and are interested in medication abortion (the abortion pill), please click here.

Emergency contraception is designed to prevent pregnancy after birth control failure (e.g., broken condom) or unprotected sex. It is a progestin hormone that prevents pregnancy by stopping the release of an egg (ovulation) and causing changes to the womb and cervical mucus to make it more difficult for an egg to encounter sperm (fertilization) or attach itself to the wall of the womb (implantation).

Use of this medication will not stop an existing pregnancy or protect you against any sexually transmitted diseases (e.g., HIV, gonorrhea or chlamydia).

This medication may not work in women over a certain weight (for example, greater than 164 pounds or 74 kilograms). Talk to your physician for more details and to see if this medication is right for you.

This medication should never be used as a regular form of birth control.
